Everyday Is Halloween

October 31st, going back to memories of Lil Louis & The World and Mtume, traced back through old Japan records and Love’s Four Sail, Ian Dury & The Blockheads doing their thing as the seventies draw to a close. From the first to the last, it's but a small step to industrial, be it Jungle Wonz and Liaisons Dangereuses, Killing Joke or The Crow or even godfathers like Chrome, Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire. Perhaps that's this years addition to canon, clasping hand in hand with the others like the final scenes of Seventh Seal... and what could be more Halloween than that?

At the end of the day, all I ask is for some Hashim records and a star to sail them by: post-disco waves, dancing in the pale moonlight.
